Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shayne Cagle started the match with the kick off. Shayne Cagle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. The supporters of Waterbury Rangers booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodolfo Cordero was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 13th minute. Waterbury Rangers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Rodolfo Cordero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rodolfo Cordero really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shayne Cagle. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Cordero, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Cordero in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute of the match Waterbury Rangers got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ryan Esparza ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ryan Esparza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 32nd minute, Shayne Cagle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A hard shot 36 in the game by Shayne Cagle from a close distance when the talented Joaquin Gayoso managed to make a qualified save. Uruguay's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domingo Wells during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Domingo Wells kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a free kick in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Cordero in the 48th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Seco made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Carballal. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Cordero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodolfo Cordero's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 60th minute Rodolfo Cordero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Waterbury Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Preston Winston to maneuver through the defense. Boyd Donnelly made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 66th minute. Jude Blankenship hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Boyd Donnelly made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Maximiliano Escribano sent off a good shot on target. Shayne Cagle struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Waterbury Rangers. 79 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Cordero came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Boyd Donnelly in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 87 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Boyd Donnelly was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Waterbury Rangers's Tyron Huddleston was substituted for Bradley Romano. Waterbury Rangers's Truman Haines was substituted for Alfonso Buck. Boyd Donnelly came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Escribano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Waterbury Rangers were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uruguay for a fine match.
