The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of 上海申花SVA:s goal. In the 15th minute Mito Pelé shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mito Pelé received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 26th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mito Pelé in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Mito Pelé sent off a good shot on target. Fan Jing Yuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mito Pelé in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, 上海申花SVA's Troyes Silvestre got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bas de Vlieger, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovanny Koninkx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute Mito Pelé shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If 孙适义 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, 上海申花SVA's Mito Pelé sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 上海申花SVA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
