Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberigo Addari in the 9th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Rizzo in the 13th minute of play. If Corrado Contestabile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emiliano Polito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 minutes, Adriano Bianchini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Duri come il marmo and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Duri come il marmo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Bianchini didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corrado Contestabile in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Duri come il marmo's Emiliano Polito. Emiliano Polito was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Duri come il marmo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emiliano Polito quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corrado Contestabile in the 33rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Rizzo in the 38th minute of the match. Emilio Rizzo scored 1-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Corrado Contestabile recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute Emilio Rizzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Corrado Contestabile went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Duri come il marmo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mary Cau in the 52nd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Fabio Presutti heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Addari, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Emilio Rizzo came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Duri come il marmo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Rizzo couldn't finish the play. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Rizzo took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Duri come il marmo's Cristoforo Di Loreto was substituted for Mary Cau. Duri come il marmo made a substitution. Carter Romanese replaced Corrado Contestabile. Adriano Bianchini hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Emiliano Polito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Emilio Rizzo in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Emilio Rizzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilio Rizzo in the 94th minute. When the match was over Duri come il marmo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
