The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sporting Westmeerbeek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart-Jan De Vaddere didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matias Dimo saved Sporting Westmeerbeek from getting behind. Sporting Westmeerbeek's Matias Dimo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matias Dimo having to interfere. Jacque De Brouwer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacque De Brouwer got free with Julio Vera in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 35 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Matias Dimo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacque De Brouwer in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Sporting Westmeerbeek's Matias Dimo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Westmeerbeek from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dean Rutgeerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 70th minute of play forced Sporting Westmeerbeek's goalkeeper Matias Dimo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Sporting Westmeerbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Matias Dimo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Matias Dimo. Agustín Saelices showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Matias Dimo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacque De Brouwer in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Dean Rutgeerts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Westmeerbeek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sporting Westmeerbeek's Dean Rutgeerts got a free kick in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the match, Sporting Westmeerbeek's goalkeeper Matias Dimo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 84th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 87th minute Jacque De Brouwer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Bart-Jan De Vaddere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Dimo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Sporting Westmeerbeek fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
