After 14 minutes, Valeriu Enache mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paris Saint-Germain and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mexico booed when Paris Saint-Germain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriu Enache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice moves Valeriu Enache could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. In the 27thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paris Saint-Germain's Constantin Ciolacu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 38th minute of play forced Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper Constantin Ciolacu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Constantin Ciolacu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Constantin Ciolacu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valeriu Enache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Paris Saint-Germain's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper Constantin Ciolacu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 70 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Constantin Ciolacu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. Paris Saint-Germain's Constantin Ciolacu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Paris Saint-Germain from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Zebastian Soned came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Constantin Ciolacu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Paris Saint-Germain's Karin Junior got a free kick in the 86th minute. A collision led to Paris Saint-Germain getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. George Rareș hit a great ball. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
