Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Germán Figueres in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Milko in the 16th minute of play. Paquito Rey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eugeniusz Milko sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Manel Quintanilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
