An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Landin in the 7th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. At last the ball reached Niklas Kjellberg at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Colombia. 1-0. Abram Sarmiento scored 1-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jens-Åke Källberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute of the match, Torgny Landin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After taking down the ball on Boca Juniors's corner Dimitris Panagiotakis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Manzanares quite easily take care of the ball. Colombia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Oscar Lindholm scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Manzanares, making the score, 3-2. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torgny Landin in the 31st minute of play. Boca Juniors's Münir Salih quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joshua Garrido, made in the 33rd minute of the game. Rickard Löfgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Torgny Landin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. The supporters of Colombia booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Löfgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torgny Landin was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Joshua Garrido in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Boca Juniors's Lars Ekberg. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Torgny Landin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Oscar Lindholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boca Juniors's Harry Hedling was substituted for Dimitris Panagiotakis. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Jan Höijer replaced Özkan Kayaer. 64 minutes into the game, Torgny Landin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Torgny Landin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Harry Hedling was slow to take the kick. During this time Boca Juniors's players had a chance to rest. Rickard Löfgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Torgny Landin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Per-Åke Lundberg. In the 94th minute Torgny Landin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute Boca Juniors were awarded a corner. Harry Hedling went to the cornerflag to take it.
