Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Rothwell Park's Walter Mutuku started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Rothwell Park's Shekhar Biwott nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 7th minute Walter Mutuku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Espinar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Rothwell Park getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Teófilo Vilanova hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Valentín Carvallo. Walter Mutuku struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rothwell Park. Walter Mutuku took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Githinji Muhoho having to interfere. Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Rothwell Park getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Teófilo Vilanova hit a great ball. After 41 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Valentín Carvallo. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Rothwell Park booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentín Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Walter Mutuku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 played minutes Rothwell Park got a freekick which was hit by John Kipketer. The supporters of Honduras booed when Rothwell Park was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Kipketer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honduras's Luca Espinar got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rothwell Park's William Mohamed was substituted for Walter Mutuku. The supporters of Honduras booed when Rothwell Park was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teófilo Vilanova didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Githinji Muhoho was a little too slow when Edmundo Espiga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Mohamed in the 82nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Githinji Muhoho having to interfere. Valentín Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Honduras's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Rothwell Park had won, even though Honduras had held more of the ball.
