Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 16th minute Gottlieb Hammer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gottlieb Hammer in the 18th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Gottlieb Hammer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Balus Treter's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elivélton Tavares in the 25th minute. Gottlieb Hammer came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Balus Treter were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elivélton Tavares took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Gottlieb Hammer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Gottlieb Hammer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karsten Zielinski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Balus Treter's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski did a great save. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karsten Zielinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Balus Treter's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Karsten Zielinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Sebastián Puig during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Balus Treter booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gottlieb Hammer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Karsten Zielinski made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Karsten Zielinski. After 59 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gottlieb Hammer in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Gottlieb Hammer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gottlieb Hammer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Lukas Prielhofer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gottlieb Hammer, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gottlieb Hammer in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute Gottlieb Hammer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Gottlieb Hammer notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Gottlieb Hammer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balus Treter's supporters rose to their feet, but Gottlieb Hammer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
