Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edmundo Espiga took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walter Mutuku. 8 minutes into the game, Sammy Keino threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tony Githinji Muhoho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 19th minute of play. If Esteban Carvallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Carvallo in the 20th minute of play forced Rothwell Park's goalkeeper Tony Githinji Muhoho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esteban Carvallo shot a long shot in the 20th minute and a light blocked Tony Githinji Muhoho hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walter Mutuku got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Honduras's Sebastian Villa suffered a sore thigh after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Christopher Mbugua fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rothwell Park's protests and gave Christopher Mbugua a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sammy Keino during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Rothwell Park was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sammy Keino to maneuver through the defense. Alexander Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Githinji Muhoho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute Walter Mutuku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Edmundo Espiga made a precise shot to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho. Rothwell Park's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Urpo Kanerva hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Valentín Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Githinji Muhoho came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rothwell Park's William Mohamed was substituted for Walter Mutuku. A throw-in in the 76th minute of the game was made by Shekhar Biwott with William Mohamed as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Mohamed in the 79th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Christian Sancho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Honduras and the Rothwell Park players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rothwell Park booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, Luca Espinar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Githinji Muhoho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. A collision led to Rothwell Park getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Teófilo Vilanova hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Edmundo Espiga fired a really elegant long shot, but Tony Githinji Muhoho threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Lautaro Navarro had in the 95thth minute some difficulties stopping Urpo Kanerva's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When the match was over Honduras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rothwell Park throughout the match.
