After 23 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Rouco. 2kC Poznań's Tadeusz Rutkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 26th minute of play. Edgar Turak kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 27th minute of play forced 2kC Poznań's goalkeeper Tadeusz Rutkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Tadeusz Rutkowski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Edgar Turak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of 2kC Poznań booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tytus Dylla couldn't finish the play. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Ulryk Merski sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, 2kC Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Tadeusz Rutkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Tadeusz Rutkowski in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 2kC Poznań made a substitution. Zbigniew Zaworski replaced Marek Buczko. 2kC Poznań's Zachary Plaski was substituted for Stanislaw Kisielka. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Janusz Pusiak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, 2kC Poznań's Czeslaw Dembowski got a free kick in the 83rd minute.
