An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play forced Tacheros OFF's goalkeeper Rodolfo Anaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Najarro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Tacheros OFF were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jan-Ove Tunander took the corner. The corner led Tacheros OFF's Jan-Ove Tunander to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Matias Iztal hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tacheros OFF's goalie prevented a goal. Adolfo Blanco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Najarro in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alonzo Laurentzi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Najarro made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Tacheros OFF's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Anaya came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Rodolfo Anaya managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rodolfo Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattin Solbeida in the 62nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Tacheros OFF defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodolfo Anaya. The Tacheros OFF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodolfo Anaya should have stopped the shot. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Rodolfo Anaya made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Iztal in the 72nd minute of play. Rodolfo Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mattin Solbeida in the 81st minute of the match. Tacheros OFF's Mattin Solbeida got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Rodolfo Anaya when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tacheros OFF's Rodolfo Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute of play. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Rodolfo Anaya to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rodolfo Anaya. That made the score 0-2 after 95 minutes of play.
