Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The CFR Sibiu fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when CFR Sibiu's Luca Dănilă looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, CFR Sibiu's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Cristo Nofre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristo Nofre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donovan Vincent kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th match minute, CFR Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evert Kjellberg to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, CFR Sibiu's Hipólito Zambujal got a free kick in the 16th minute. Cristo Nofre came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by CFR Sibiu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cristo Nofre. 1-2. 33 minutes into the match, CFR Sibiu's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Cristo Nofre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41stth minute of the game Luca Dănilă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristo Nofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luca Dănilă to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavies Bedoya in the 53rd minute of the match. CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save CFR Sibiu from getting a goal against them. Cristo Nofre made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Dănilă in the 65th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Dănilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 70th match minute, CFR Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipólito Zambujal to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Evert Kjellberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evert Kjellberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Costel Novăceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristo Nofre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when CFR Sibiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Kjellberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Novăceanu in the 91st minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
