Ciudad de Soria's Arrosko Rojas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Berriotxoa in the 20th minute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.D. Ciudad de Soria's goalkeeper Olo Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olo Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Teodoro Zamora tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julian Murillo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Ciudad de Soria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Qwinton Ricoy to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olo Kahn. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luz Tejedor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Berriotxoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Berriotxoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peru were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
