Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stasio Bienienda ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of the match. If Zhao Sen Yang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Chiuzbaian was left in no man's land by his defense there! A throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game was made by Primitivo Andino with Felix Montenegro as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 43rd minute, Stasio Bienienda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang got a free kick in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, Zhao Sen Yang notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 54 minutes into the game, Zhao Sen Yang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petre Iftode to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Di Piazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 minutes of play, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhao Sen Yang in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian managed to reach the ball for a save.
