Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 4th minute. A nice corner shot did that Facundo Cadaval got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Valer Nuțu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 6th minute of play. Valer Nuțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After 18 minutes of play, Mexico's Luca Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valer Nuțu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- throughout the match.
