Stefan Mathiassen was slow to take the kick. During this time FRANK's players had a chance to rest. Wout Gheysen made a great header on FRANK's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Hugo Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
