Tomas Brandt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Tomas Brandt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 11th minute of the match. A hard shot 15 in the game by Marcelito Vivar from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. In the 27th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelito Vivar in the 28th minute. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pudes Vilas in the 30th minute of the match. Pudes Vilas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Pudes Vilas slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alianza Trujillo's zone, Lorenzo Cazalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Brandt came out of the goal and Lorenzo Cazalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Brandt having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cayetano Montez was the one to do the kick off. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelito Vivar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cayetano Montez's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. After 55 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tomas Brandt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. With a little luck, Alianza Trujillo's Tomas Brandt got control of the ball when Facundo Cadaval tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alianza Trujillo's Ramon Martino was substituted for Cayetano Montez. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelito Vivar in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Marcelito Vivar notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. But to his dismay, Olly Morgan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When Joel Gaona fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Joel Gaona a yellow card for diving instead. After 96 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
