An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play forced KS Greenpi's goalkeeper Mariusz Pochorylo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Christof Cartus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Adrian Tărău cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Christof Cartus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariusz Pochorylo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, KS Greenpi's Mariusz Pochorylo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan Sebastián Puig's late challenge caught a KS Greenpi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. KS Greenpi's Mariusz Pochorylo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 87th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Mariusz Pochorylo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Deng Kang Kang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but KS Greenpi were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
