FC Fanaticii's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horaţiu Zotincă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Aaron Alcocer fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Aaron Alcocer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, FC Fanaticii's Marius Măgură ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When FC Fanaticii's Marius Măgură in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. FC Fanaticii's Marius Măgură was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. FC Fanaticii's Moise Corduneanu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugo Ferrant, made in the 20th minute of the game. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 31st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, FC Fanaticii's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Andrei Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Eusebiu Oanță was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Fanaticii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Măgură in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Măgură in the 58th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 66thth minute of the game Axel Tasis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Fanaticii's Andrei Pavel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Adrian Jitaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. There was no doubt that FC Fanaticii were the better team. FC Fanaticii's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
