Nanov fc's Marin Luican played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 23rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Nanov fc getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Călin Vochin hit a great ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Tasis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Hosu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horea Lăzăroiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Nanov fc's Costel Gugulanu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benito Sanz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 93rd minute Horea Lăzăroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Noboa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Marin Luican when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
