Narciso Ferraz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rusi Moskal. In the 5th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12thth minute of the game Rusi Moskal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yannick Turpault breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belisca Xana Sport Club ®'s goalkeeper Yannick Turpault, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Belisca Xana Sport Club ®'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Yannick Turpault reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rusi Moskal in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced Belisca Xana Sport Club ®'s goalkeeper Yannick Turpault to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Celsinho Esteves fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belisca Xana Sport Club ®'s protests and gave Celsinho Esteves a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Belisca Xana Sport Club ® was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Belisca Xana Sport Club ®'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Yannick Turpault reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rusi Moskal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rusi Moskal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 47 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yannick Turpault narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rusi Moskal was the one to do the kick off. Celsinho Esteves was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Belisca Xana Sport Club ® was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 71 minutes into the game, Rusi Moskal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Belisca Xana Sport Club ®'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 71st minute, Rusi Moskal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belisca Xana Sport Club ® made a substitution. Yuri Barreto replaced Luizão Vieira.
