Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lawrance See. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Jakub Zoufalý took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Stratton FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 52 minutes, Jakub Zoufalý managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stratton FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakub Zoufalý was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Joshua Secada came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joshua Secada couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lawrance See having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakub Zoufalý in the 69th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakub Zoufalý, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Stratton FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alessandro Sacchi in the 73rd minute. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lawrance See breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stratton FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
