Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfried Spaniol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. Galo na Veia FC™'s Bernard Scarpa was substituted for Flavinho Rosado. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilfried Spaniol in the 79th managed to get into a good position. The audience was convinced that Wilfried Spaniol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Bernard Scarpa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play.
