The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Arturo Carvallo hit a great ball. Válter Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kirk Lafond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 15th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Válter Chaves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso, 1-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Mazinho Vasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DOE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mazinho Vasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mazinho Vasco. Válter Chaves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. 31 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kirk Lafond made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 34 minutes into the match, Mazinho Vasco notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquin Gayoso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Válter Chaves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 40 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 45 played minutes DOE FC got a freekick which was hit by Arlen Dixon. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Kirk Lafond skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Francisco Secos short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Kirk Lafond to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A sloppy throw-in by Yann McKinney in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Kirk Lafond made a huge save. In the 91st minute, Válter Chaves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
