Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaid Šuman. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grigoris Koufakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute Šemsudin Kamber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaid Šuman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Kaid Šuman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 23rd minute. After 26th play minutes Julian Murillo shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Grigoris Koufakis and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 28th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigoris Koufakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after FK Željezničar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FK Željezničar's goalkeeper Grigoris Koufakis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Grigoris Koufakis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the match, FK Željezničar's goal looked a bit too open when Milagros Fraga came free, but Grigoris Koufakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FK Željezničar booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Luz Tejedor.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Peru got a corner. FK Željezničar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Grigoris Koufakis stood somewhat misplaced when Julian Murillo came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 53 minute. Milagros Fraga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Grigoris Koufakis having to make a save. In the 60th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigoris Koufakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Mandela in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, FK Željezničar's goalkeeper Grigoris Koufakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Grigoris Koufakis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Haroldo Precioso made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Patricio Maquibar. Adi Jusufović replaced Nelson Mandela. 79 minutes into the game, Stevan Žižović threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Nikola Bogdanović hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Grigoris Koufakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 81st minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Nikola Bogdanović made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 86th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Tenorio to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaid Šuman in the 89th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 minutes of play, FK Željezničar's Kaid Šuman made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rafael Gallo scored 5-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grigoris Koufakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Haroldo Precioso in the 95th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina.
