The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Furlan saved Göpsen FC from getting behind. Florian Bugajski charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florian Bugajski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Florian Bugajski hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Göpsen FC's Anselmo Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Göpsen FC's Pantelija Bou fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pantelija Bou struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Göpsen FC. Anselmo Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Göpsen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Anselmo Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Pantelija Bou reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-1. Pantelija Bous short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 42nd match minute, Göpsen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beltran De Paula to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Yunus Canver came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yunus Canver scored 2-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pantelija Bou to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Anselmo Furlan in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yunus Canver in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Göpsen FC's Vahdet Canbolat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Anselmo Furlan in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Pantelija Bou came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Göpsen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pantelija Bou couldn't finish the play. 84 minutes into the match, Göpsen FC's Charles Gallot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Pantelija Bou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Göpsen FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. In the 94th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Göpsen FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
