In the 12th minute of the match Cassius Byrne sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Georgi Velinov skillfully saved the ball. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Ahmet Refik Ülgü had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 32nd minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Ahmet Refik Ülgü who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Marco Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute FC CSKA were awarded a corner. Georgi Dimitrov went to the cornerflag to take it. Zach Harrison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

FC CSKA's Arnulfo Roderigo was substituted for Téo Vieira. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassius Byrne to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Asparuh Genovski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC CSKA were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after USA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Georgi Dimitrov took the corner. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Georgi Velinov made a huge save. Georgi Velinov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 66th minute of the match. Todor Yanchev charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Todor Yanchev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. After a rather tough play, FC CSKA's Todor Yanchev got a free kick in the 68th minute. When FC CSKA's Arnulfo Roderigo in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USA's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of FC CSKA booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Mcdonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. When FC CSKA's Arnulfo Roderigo in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USA's goalie prevented a goal. In the 90th minute Khalid Parry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Georgi Velinov in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. USA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
