An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Jesse Van den Ende got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Angel Jonsansoro hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes New Alianza FC got a freekick which was hit by Angel Jonsansoro.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when New Alianza FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinand Aguinaco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Saul Aramberri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesse Van den Ende in the 83rd minute of play. New Alianza FC had played much better football throughout.
