The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The throw-in from Luca Zorita in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Rönnöfors FF's Bertil Hellgren. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Rönnöfors FF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Stenberg in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Macos Graciani got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Hubert Fagrell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play. Henry Fagerberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Joel Gaona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hubert Fagrell having to make a save. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Alberto Tafalla put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Hubert Fagrell. Hubert Fagrell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 45th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henry Fagerberg was the one to do the kick off. Rönnöfors FF's Sigvard Biörnberg got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hubert Fagrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henry Fagerberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Fagerberg in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Rönnöfors FF's goalkeeper Hubert Fagrell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. After 85 minutes, Per Tunström made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Tafalla to maneuver through the defense. The Rönnöfors FF players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
