Joélson de Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Joélson de Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. When Martin Zammit fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Genio della Lampada FC's protests and gave Martin Zammit a yellow card for diving instead. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis De Rossi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger Grönlund kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Joélson de Azevedo made a huge save. Cristian Sancho came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joélson de Azevedo could save by the left post. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joélson de Azevedo quite easily take care of the ball. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Genio della Lampada FC's Joélson de Azevedo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristinel Mustățea to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joélson de Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Genio della Lampada FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 86th minute of the match, Cristinel Mustățea got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 何沙铮, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Genio della Lampada FC to leave the ground with a draw.
