A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. 严奕铮 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Eliseo Noboa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving 严奕铮. That made the score 3-0 in the 35 minute of play. Lautaro Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 严奕铮. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. 严奕铮 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Alcocer, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 严奕铮 was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Eliseo Noboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Noboa really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for 陶皓然 to strike the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Hugo Ferrant in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by 中国小学生冠军联队's 蔡德瑜. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 沈凡枫 in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when 中国小学生冠军联队 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. 马扬凡 didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 86th minute of play forced 中国小学生冠军联队's goalkeeper 严奕铮 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 严奕铮 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 93rd minute of play. Costa Rica's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
