Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Dionisio Zubizarreta hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Coronel Paredes in the 7th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Víctor Valdés. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. In the 11th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Víctor Valdés was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Manuel Zubiaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Víctor Valdés didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Barros Cifuentes hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Zubiaga in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Manuel Zubiaga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Coronel Paredes might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Coronel Paredes ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Coronel Paredes to strike the kick off in the second half. Víctor Valdés showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to Calaflores FC. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Conrado Montero hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coronel Paredes in the 65th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Manuel Zubiaga could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 70th minute of play forced Calaflores FC.'s goalkeeper Víctor Valdés to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Calaflores FC.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Ecuador's Cristian Sancho getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Víctor Valdés took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víctor Valdés saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calaflores FC. made a substitution. Marcos Zapater replaced Manuel Zubiaga. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
