When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Olli Fiedler sped through Peru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. In the 19th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Davison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luz Tejedor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Davison having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Sportivo Luan Toro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Peru:s goal. The referee gave Peru a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luz Tejedor, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sportivo Luan Toro's Robert Davison. 1-1. Robert Davison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Olli Fiedler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Davison came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olli Fiedler in the 46th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olli Fiedler made a kick off. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olli Fiedler in the 52nd minute of play. A hard shot 54 in the game by Julian Murillo from a close distance when the talented Robert Davison managed to make a qualified save. Sportivo Luan Toro's players were relieved. 62 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Olli Fiedler came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sportivo Luan Toro's Justino Roland was substituted for Alberto Fidencio. In the 67th match minute, Sportivo Luan Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Eufrasio to maneuver through the defense. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 74th minute of play forced Sportivo Luan Toro's goalkeeper Robert Davison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Davison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Davison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Robert Davison made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martins Palermo in the 79th minute of play. In the 91st minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Robert Davison despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
