The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leonardo Paublo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. CDU Católica's Juan Pablo Morel got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Almeyra F.C.'s Eleuterio Salvino got a free kick in the 12th minute. If Salbatore Trincado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anier Ortzi's late challenge caught a CDU Católica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anier Ortzi helped the player get up and apologised. After 15 played minutes Almeyra F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Anier Ortzi. Jacinto Nuxila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salbatore Trincado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salbatore Trincado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jacinto Nuxila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salbatore Trincado scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacinto Nuxila, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Omar Salah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Nuxila having to interfere. Jacinto Nuxila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Pablo Morel in the 31st minute of the match. In the 38th minute Salbatore Trincado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Nuxila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salbatore Trincado hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Leonardo Paublo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After having played for 43 minutes, Salbatore Trincado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CDU Católica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salbatore Trincado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Almeyra F.C. were furious when Constantino Jacindo was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for CDU Católica. Bruno Daneri stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jacinto Nuxila. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lázaro Ascencio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the last second Jacinto Nuxila throw himself and got hold of the ball when Salbatore Trincado in the 55thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Roman Hernandez fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almeyra F.C.'s protests and gave Roman Hernandez a yellow card for diving instead. Roman Hernandez hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Almeyra F.C.'s Jacinto Nuxila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salbatore Trincado in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to Almeyra F.C. getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Edelmiro Ticho hit a great ball. With his leg Jacinto Nuxila managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when CDU Católica's Salbatore Trincado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Salbatore Trincado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Nuxila was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Omar Salah capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Omar Salah really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. 83 minutes into the match, Juan Pablo Morel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacinto Nuxila. Almeyra F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Pablo Morel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. In the 88th minute of the match, Salbatore Trincado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jacinto Nuxila saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jacinto Nuxila made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Pablo Morel in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute, Lázaro Ascencio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Salbatore Trincado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jacinto Nuxila. That made the score 0-8 in the 96 minute of play. CDU Católica's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
