The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Knut Rudberg hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Viktor Pettersson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Heavenly Hooters's Shane Beesley got a free kick in the 8th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chen Ao Fan got free with Bill Peterson in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Skövde AIK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kevin Keegan in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Dudley Hadley notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Skövde AIK's Viktor Pettersson. Viktor Pettersson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Viktor Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shane Beesley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viktor Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bukay Saka in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute Bukay Saka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heavenly Hooters's Bill Peterson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chen Ao Fan got free with Bill Peterson in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the match, Heavenly Hooters's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Hamrin came free, but Bill Peterson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bill Peterson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shane Beesley scored 0-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viktor Pettersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chen Ao Fan to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Heavenly Hooters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camron Blain to maneuver through the defense. Kurt Hamrin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heavenly Hooters's Frank Murray was substituted for Grant Willets. In the 81st minute, Heavenly Hooters's Dudley Hadley ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Viktor Pettersson. Viktor Pettersson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Heavenly Hooters's Bill Peterson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 84th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the match Skövde AIK got a corner. Heavenly Hooters's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kevin Keegan ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Skövde AIK's Knut Rudberg in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Heavenly Hooters's goalie prevented a goal. 96 minutes into the match, Heavenly Hooters's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Bill Peterson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Heavenly Hooters eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
