After a rather tough play, Abandonados FC's Yader Conchas got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abandonados FC's goalkeeper Julio Clarabout, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abandonados FC's Julio Clarabout played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 12th minute of play. Veremundo Cuenca's late challenge caught a Skövde AIK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Veremundo Cuenca helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Veremundo Cuenca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Abandonados FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Julio Clarabout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kurt Hamrin took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Clarabout. The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when Abandonados FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yader Conchas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kurt Hamrin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Julio Clarabout tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kevin Keegan took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Clarabout. Julio Clarabout dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Julio Clarabout showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 26th minute of the match. Julio Clarabout showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 28 minutes of play, Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Clarabout was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Clarabout took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kurt Hamrin struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Julio Clarabout didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde AIK. Knut Rudberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Abandonados FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Julio Clarabout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Julio Clarabout made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 41st minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Kurt Hamrin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Julio Clarabout was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valentim Valderramal to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Skövde AIK's Kurt Hamrin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Clarabout made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Julio Clarabout showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Julio Clarabout made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Keegan in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Kurt Hamrin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Hamrin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Clarabout breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the match, Kurt Hamrin notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Abandonados FC's Julio Clarabout. Julio Clarabout was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kevin Keegan might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Clarabout. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kevin Keegan ran back to his position shaking his head.
