The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adalberto Vianna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Rodriguinho de Queirós made a huge save. Samuca Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Imbituba - FSCMZ's zone, Rafinha Sergipano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodriguinho de Queirós came out of the goal and Rafinha Sergipano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gil dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho de Queirós having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Falcão Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's supporters rose to their feet, but Falcão Marques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charles Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Falcão Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristóvão Linares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Rodriguinho de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil dos Santos in the 64th minute of play. Rodriguinho de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil dos Santos in the 68th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Acácio Ortiz during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Imbituba - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Tiago Fontes was substituted for Adriano Secco. The supporters of Rondinone F.C - FDFDF booed when Imbituba - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Adalberto Vianna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Eduardo Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Vítor Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF fully deserved thier win.
