After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Bruno Penha got a free kick in the 5th minute. Roman Weidenfeller was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 12 minutes into the game, Dudu Camargo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dortmund MZB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imbituba - FSCMZ the free kick. In the 13th match minute, Borussia Dortmund MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudu Camargo to maneuver through the defense. Acácio Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roman Weidenfeller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Ortiz in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Olívio Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Roman Weidenfeller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Acácio Ortiz in the 21st minute of play. When Giuseppe Castro fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund MZB's protests and gave Giuseppe Castro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd match minute, Borussia Dortmund MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Castro to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th match minute, Imbituba - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olívio Castro to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Acácio Ortiz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Imbituba - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 45th minute Acácio Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Weidenfeller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Durvalino Quintal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodriguinho de Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristóvão Linares to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Imbituba - FSCMZ's Cristóvão Linares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roman Weidenfeller. That made the score 1-4 after 72 minutes of play. 79 minutes into the match, Acácio Ortiz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Roman Weidenfeller, 1-5. After 83 played minutes Imbituba - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Linares. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Acácio Ortiz in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Weidenfeller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cristóvão Linares 89 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. 93 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Acácio Ortiz. Vinícius Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Imbituba - FSCMZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
