Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play forced Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Velasco Rollan's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Marino Malet in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 32nd minute Sociedad Anónima were awarded a corner. Niva Bruna went to the cornerflag to take it. Niva Bruna hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Marino Malet notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Velasco Rollan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianluigi Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute. Juan Sebastián Puig made in the 55th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luis Andino however managed to control. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Anónima's Niva Bruna got a free kick in the 60th minute. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Velasco Rollan went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marino Malet in the 68th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Velasco Rollan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Velasco Rollan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Sociedad Anónima's Cordaryal Valdecañas was substituted for Ramos Trasmiera. Sociedad Anónima made a substitution. Felix Larren replaced Marino Malet. With a little luck, Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sociedad Anónima.
