Modesto Bernal went to the cornerflag to take it. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Marten Palermo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Everardo Colas in the 18th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Walter Erviti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marten Palermo's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marten Palermo in the 33rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Everardo Colas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marten Palermo in the 38th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Marten Palermo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marten Palermo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 42 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Modesto Bernal who took care of the corner kick. Belfegor FC's Dong Ming Qian was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Belfegor FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Colas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Everardo Colas to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fede Gomes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. In the 54th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Fede Gomes. Belfegor FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Colas in the 58th minute of play. Belfegor FC made a substitution. Saverio Orlondon replaced Cesar Barbosa. Belfegor FC's Facundo Colidio was substituted for Walter Erviti. Fede Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 65th minute of the match. Belfegor FC's Domingos Nabar was substituted for Simon Lapurdi. Agustín Saelices scored 2-3 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fede Gomes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Marten Palermo could shoot a difficult shot in the 82nd minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. Belfegor FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Modesto Bernal in the 83rd minute. Primitivo Andino made in the 86th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. 88 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marten Palermo. Marten Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Belfegor FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
