The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Milescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's Olimpiu Drăucean got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Zidan Miner charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zidan Miner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th match minute, CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zidan Miner to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Axel Tasis from long distance, 13 minutes into the match, got Pavel Milescu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 15th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 16 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. The audience was convinced that Levi Miner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. The CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's Levi Miner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 21st minute, Dorel Ghețea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 29th minute. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iurie Ivasiuc took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 40 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Dorel Ghețea came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Levi Miner made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 47 minutes of play, CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's Levi Miner made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levi Miner in the 52nd minute of play. When Dorel Grozuță fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's protests and gave Dorel Grozuță a yellow card for diving instead. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Ivasiuc in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Levi Miner had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 62 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 65 played minutes, CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's Levi Miner shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benito Sanz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorel Ghețea in the 67th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorel Ghețea, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Iurie Ivasiuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Iurie Ivasiuc capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Iurie Ivasiuc really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. In the 74th minute Levi Miner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Levi Miner scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-7. Iurie Ivasiuc came free with the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benito Sanz could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 84th minute. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iurie Ivasiuc's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle sounded CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
