Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. In the 17th minute, Arnoldo Jaizki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severiano Henrico charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Severiano Henrico the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Santiago Luken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Feliberto Iraitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Feliberto Iraitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliberto Iraitz made a kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliberto Iraitz in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute of the match Pasion Tatengue got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clay Regazzoni ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pasion Tatengue's Feliberto Iraitz got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Stig Wästerberg in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliberto Iraitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Sixto Horado hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliberto Iraitz in the 78th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Hadiman Effendy came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
