Guilherme Basso started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Iratxo Barra came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes in the game, Guilherme Basso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Julio Vera having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ㄥ卂 ㄒ卂乃ㄥ卂ᗪ卂 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Basso didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Guilherme Basso scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ronald Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of ㄥ卂 ㄒ卂乃ㄥ卂ᗪ卂 booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bizi Quemada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bizi Quemada having to interfere. Bizi Quemada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Bizi Quemada in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th minute, Guilherme Basso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ㄥ卂 ㄒ卂乃ㄥ卂ᗪ卂 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 60th minute. Iratxo Barra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bizi Quemada. Bizi Quemada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bizi Quemada made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute, Socorro Terron ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Basso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. ㄥ卂 ㄒ卂乃ㄥ卂ᗪ卂's Guilherme Basso got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guilherme Basso in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bizi Quemada made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Guilherme Basso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
