Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezia FC. In the 13th minute, Venezia FC's Diego Frasquito dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Roberto Abbondanzieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roberto Abbondanzieri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute Diego Frasquito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diego Frasquito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. 44 minutes in the game Thibau Van Mellaert after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Jonathan Ferrant. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diego Frasquito made a kick off. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Desiderio Salvadore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute, Diego Frasquito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Thibau Van Mellaert came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Desiderio Salvadore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Frasquito in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Frasquito in the 75th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Thibau Van Mellaert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. Diego Frasquito took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. After 94 minutes, Tomas Illescas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Venezia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 94th minute.
