Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 6th minute of play. Australian Youth Academy's Ollie Flesfadar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dani Cochrane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dani Cochrane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Australian Youth Academy's Herman Heberle quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Dani Cochrane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olliver Todman to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 58th minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dani Cochrane. The goal made the score 0-3. Dani Cochrane didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dani Cochrane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Australian Youth Academy were furious when Ollie Flesfadar was red carded, 77 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of Australian Youth Academy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Australian Youth Academy's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dani Cochrane came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dani Cochrane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 84th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 86 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Brayden Carberry. A hard shot 88 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Dani Cochrane managed to make a qualified save. Australian Youth Academy's players were relieved. After 96 minutes, Dakota Gaffigan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Australian Youth Academy and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 96 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Dakota Gaffigan. Dani Cochrane made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. The Australian Youth Academy fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Venezuela were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
