The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romeo Chelaru was the one to do the kick off. Alan Campos's late challenge caught a MZ Rapid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Campos helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Alan Campos hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Romeo Chelaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After 63 minutes, Hector Covarrubias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the MZ Rapid players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Romeo Chelaru fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MZ Rapid's protests and gave Romeo Chelaru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Romeo Chelaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
