But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Edmundo Espiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Waldir da Mata made a huge save. Ivan Navarro got a throw-in 25 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sebastian Villa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Waldir da Mata in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalie prevented a goal. Edmundo Espiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Waldir da Mata made a huge save. With his leg Waldir da Mata managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Waldir da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 46th minute of play. In the 46th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir da Mata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Váldson Berger to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldir da Mata saved CE LAJEADENSE RS from getting behind.
