Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dacian Ghițescu came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some careless play in the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dacian Ghițescu. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dacian Ghițescu should have stopped the shot. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Dacian Ghițescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dacian Ghițescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cristinel Uncheşelu fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Cristinel Uncheşelu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristinel Uncheşelu to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Sorin Nicorici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Dacian Ghițescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Golo Phoenix in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Golo Phoenix was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Mihăilescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dacian Ghițescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dacian Ghițescu came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Golo Phoenix in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dacian Ghițescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Mihăilescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 76 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Golo Phoenix. In the 78th minute, Golo Phoenix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Dacian Ghițescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 92 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Dacian Ghițescu made a huge save. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
