Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Cresitobalo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Segio having to interfere. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Segio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play. When Cuchilla FC's Anacleto Ibon in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Segio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Segio came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fernando Segio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute Cuchilla FC were awarded a corner. Jim Waterman went to the cornerflag to take it. Isaias Cresitobalo made a great header on Cuchilla FC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 34th minute of the match Cuchilla FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jim Waterman ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lisandro López was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 41 minutes Cuchilla FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Agustín Saelices almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cuchilla FC's Fernando Segio did a great save. Cuchilla FC's Fernando Segio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 44th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Cuchilla FC's Jim Waterman tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Isaias Cresitobalo scored 1-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaias Cresitobalo was the one to do the kick off. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Anacleto Ibon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anacleto Ibon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Zorita during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cuchilla FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Frantzes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cuchilla FC had won after a very even match.
